An auto-immune disease that sucks.
An autoimmune disorder that primarily affects the spine and pelvis affecting 0.1% to 0.8% of people. Men and women likely get the disease about equally often, but it’s usually worse in men. It’s onset is usually in people’s 20s, typically felt in the low-back/buttock region.
Heavily correlated with the HLA-B27 antigen. About 85% of people with AS have HLA-B27.
